Sharing my passion for living history was sparked while doing an economic history major in Melbourne in the 90’s. This sparked my curiosity in all things historical. For over 6 years I have been exploring with visitors and locals to unearth the unique living history of the Hepburn area which is always a highlight of my week. Returning to Melbourne in 2025 has seen us create a whole new historical offering there as well.
I am the co-owner and principal tour guide of Alice's Journeys Walking Tours, and have been a local to Melbourne and the Hepburn region for over twenty five years. Born and bred in central Victoria, I established the company as a women owned, independent, tour operation in 2018. I've travelled extensively in Australia and overseas and developed this unique walking tour to showcase the cities and towns and display their rich history. Walks feature pre and post colonisation to present day, with curated untold stories. Join us for exclusive access to secret spaces and buildings and unusual tracks and pathways.
Rachel

Designing and managing our Digital footprints aren’t Rachel’s only talents. Rachel is our social media guru, environmental advocate and official photographer extraordinaire. Rachel also ensures our carbon footprint is kept to an absolute minimum through our ethical and environmental approach to all we do.
Cathy
Tour Guide & education consultant
Cathy has been a teacher, writer, theatre director and actor. She has written curriculum for both primary school drama and high school creative writing and drama courses.
Since retirement, Cathy has been able to immerse herself in local community projects. Moving to the Central Highlands has brought her back to the country life she experienced as a child in North America. Cathy delights in exploring the local landscape and its history.
Cathy has been enjoying working with Alice’s Journeys for the last two years, especially on our education and group programs.
Michelle
Tour Guide
Michelle loves true crime podcasts and this has enticed her to want to share stories from the dark side of this wonderful local hood here in Daylesford. People’s lives and histories fascinate her curiosity to know what went on in the past, particularly as our needs have changed over time….where does that lead us to!
Meeting new people and sharing these stories with them brings Michelle an abundance of joy! Every single one of us has an interesting story to tell and discovering some of the sordid happenings that have occurred here in Daylesford is a lot of fun.
When Michelle’s not spending time doing walking tours she is studying a Masters in Counselling, supporting youth in our community, growing a wonderful garden, cooking up a storm and hiking across the country side to name a few things. She is passionate about the environment, living sustainably and often involved in activism to protect our special township.
